Greeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You being by the General Assembly of this Colony, accepted to be Ensign<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>of the first Company or Trainband in the Town of Litchfield<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>reposing special Trust and Confidence in your Loyalty, Courage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and good Conduct, I do, by Virtue of the Letters Patent from the Crown of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>England <\/em>to this Corporation, Me thereunto enabling, appoint and impower You<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to take said Company into Your Care and charge, as their Ensign<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>carefully and diligently to discharge that Trust; exercising your<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>inferior Officers and Soldiers in the Use of their Arms, according<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to the Discipline of War: Keeping them in good Order and Government, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>commanding them to obey You as their Ensign for His Majesty&#8217;s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Service.
